Open Source Dig of the Week 2: about static website

Explore documentation tools like Orchid, Wiki.js, and Publii in this week's Dig.

Intro

"Dig of the Week" is my (let's be honest: occasional) series where I explore interesting Open Source projects.

This week focuses on static websites, documentation frameworks, and wiki tools.

Publii - Desktop SSG CMS

Publii: Static CMS for privacy-focused, SEO-optimized websites.

Publii is a desktop-based CMS for Windows, Mac, and Linux, designed to make creating static websites easy and hassle-free, even for beginners.

It’s a great choice for basic blogs. I appreciate tools that are simple yet powerful. While template engines like Jekyll are fine, they require more configuration. If you prefer not to deal with setup or don’t focus much on frontend skills, Publii could be the solution. It works out of the box and supports features like git synchronization, plugins, themes, Markdown, and a WYSIWYG editor. Using Markdown ensures you always have a local backup on your PC.

Static sites are reliable and accessible anywhere.
